I really like this one the most. I tried to do one with a view from space, but the background was either too light or the clouds played havoc with the green compass points. As for the one you are attached to, I just thought that the color of the globe clashed with the background of the skin.

As for this one, it's dark and the globe is positioned just right for the compass. I wished I got more of North America in the image, but I guess you can't have everything.

Mom likes your globe, although she said that it will be hard to make the writing show up in the background. Tommorow, she will work on it.

Stop laughing, Ed (Just teasing ya!)

I admit it does have a certain appeal. It's a good choice. And I think barba will agree with it.

Mom wishes the globe (both the dark and light color globes) wasn't so close to the thermonitor, but that means going into the current.wtp and monkeying around with the wind gauge positions...too much trouble if you ask me. Maybe you can experiment with that.

For me about the globe issue, I think we should use the one that most resembles the planet from space, especially since we are also using real pics of the moon.

Well, move the image to the right and then in the current.wtp file add as many   strings to the end of line 300 as necessary to shift the indicator gifs to match. In fact it would probably be better to reverse that sequence of steps. (Kids today. He's not really lazy mom, he just didn't know how easy it was to do. )

As for using a different image I think you should then rename the skin. Call it Daves Marmol(english) that way people can have both available to them rather than one version overlaying the other one.

Since real images appeal to you you might like one of dpdurst's icon folders ;-) ( http://www.singerscreations.com/forum/v ... photo+real). I've uploaded his file for you to review to here: http://rapidshare.com/files/50925772/skins_dd.zip.html .

I put a bit of space between the thermonitor and the globe.

I feel really bad now. Yesterday, I wrote to Barba every time I made a change. He probably hates me now. I have bipolar disorder and the illness affects my judgment . I feel very upset with myself that I let my judgment lapse. It's really frustrating when you have a chemical imbalance in your brain that makes you lose proper judgment at times and there is very little you can do other to take medication which is not perfect. If I offended you over the globe issue, I apologize...I act like a fool sometimes.

I'm off to bed....group therapy is tomorrow.

Tell Barba I'm sorry.

Thank you for your forgiveness, Barba

I have one last version of the skin.

I moved the globe so that it doesn't touch the thermoniter. My mother suggested that to me. I also replaced the big red O with a picture of the full moon.

You can download my last version of your skin at

http://webpages.charter.net/david1970/MarmolEn.zip

That is the last change I will make on your skin. Now it is time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. One thng I hve learned from this project is to not doubt myself, that I can do anything if I set my mind to the task.

Thank you, babra and EdP, for your kindness and friendship.

David

Well, maybe not.

If you note the description of the moon's phases here: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/moon_phases.html you will see that the names of the phases before a full moon are different than those after a full moon. Thus when changing the image's orientation the description should change also should it not?

And does WW or weather.com take into account the client's language setting such that the moon's name is already changed?

I'm also not sure that rotating the moon's image is the correct method verses flipping it left to right. The earth and moon's orientation do not change and the view from Guatemala City is not that different than the view from Lima Peru. But I could be wrong.

As for the barometer image, the image of it on the Fondo.jpg is clearer than the Baro.gif's image when the skin displays. And the gif is animated so Paint doesn't work.

So there are still some things that can be done.

This whole experience has taught me not to doubt my abilities. That was what I said in group therapy this afternoon.

Very enlighting links dlbryant, the 2nd one especially. Thanks for posting them. And it appears that your rotated images are indeed the correct view. :thumbright:

I'm happy to hear that this experience built up your confidence. My mom also taught me that you can do whatever you set your mind to. I think you will find that to be true also. ;-)

Got a question about Barba's barometer bar, Is it as accuate is his thermometer? I notice that the barometers in all the skins basically stay in the same place.

I know zilch about barometers, so please enlighten me.
