I would be hesitant to say the problem "extends beyoned weather watcher" I have had a perfectly running WW till just recently and now I get the server not found error only when trying to add a new location, WW works perfectly otherwise! there is absolutely nothing blocking any outgoing requests or incoming and the firewall is opened up, weather.com works just fine from any browser I use and there is no other issue other than WW. Unfortantly, I'm leaving on vacation and don't have time to try and figure this out any further. On a side note, its happening on my work PC as well!!

There was a problem with a prior release of WW where it wouldn't allow new cities to be added. Have you upgraded to 5.6.8 dpdurst?

Mike I wasn't suggesting moving the whole FAQ just the entries in this thread that pertain to debugging a problem. To keep the FAQs from becoming just another Support forum the FAQ threads should be locked.

Another reason for "Server not found", the city's weather.com link is DOWN!!

To verify, click the View this forecast as weather.com link at the bottom of the forecast page.

Try waiting 15 minutes then trying to update WW again.

It should be noted that WW now includes a new file, getfile.exe (WeatherWatcher_GetFile), which needs to be added to firewalls' Allow lists.
