Me thinks somebody has been stealing ideas...

http://www.tropicdesigns.net/weatherpulse.html

This program is the exact same thing. Heck, their systray icon menu is EXACTLY the same...

My qualms with their program are the following... it's SLOW... I mean really slow and it's got a couple bugs in the prefs window I keep getting a can't add to registry type error. Plus it CRASHES every 10 min.

The good things (hint[;)]: ideas that could be put into Weather Watcher):
1. animated maps (maybe you can link to some of the accuweather people's stuff too)
2. the ability to add URLs to maps you want to see
3. uses Windows interface... I like the Weather Watcher interface because it's simplistic, and doesn't look like XP... but for those who want that.
4. The customizable icon in the systray

Now, who's stealing from who??? I mean geeze, both programs use the same exact features and pages... however I'm sticking with Weather Watcher cuz, it doesn't crash or anything.

Hah, yes, I just saw the infamous Weather Pulse today. If their developers are reading this post, I just have one thing to say... Be original! It's nice to see that others are creating weather applications, but there is no need to make a bad attempt at recreating the entire Weather Watcher program.

It's actually pretty hillarious though... they even copied the buttons, menus, etc. Now, all they have to do is find a good programmer to fix it up [:D] Yes, I did try it and I am not impressed.

As for those mentioned features, I am working on additional features for the system tray icon, as well as additional map features. I promise... they are coming. As for the interface, I think I am going to keep it relatively the same. Adding skins will just slow the program down... and nobody wants less functionality at the cost of a few unneeded features.
