Hi,
I have searched everywhere but can't seem to find out how to eliminate the map? Is that not possible?

Hi,
That little map icon. I never use it and would just as soon not have it. I can find a way to change i.e. change map in the menu, but it seems not possible to just get rid of it totally.

Your findings are correct. There is no way to remove the icon from the toolbar.
