This is on Windows 8.1.1 x64 Professional.

    1. Open to the WWL Gui by clicking on the temperature icon in the Notification Tray
    2. Click on "Options"
    3. Select "Stations"
    4. Uncheck "Automatically update weather when active station is changed (after closing Options windows)"
    5. Click on "Apply"
    6. Click on "OK' to close the Options window
    7. Hover over the temperature icon in the notification tray. The icons in the display are gone.

WWL needs to do an update/refresh once step 5 is executed. This would prevent the icons from disappearing.

I tried what you suggested, but was unable to reproduce that issue.

Are you sure you aren't trying to hover over the system tray icon too quickly? After switching weather stations, it takes a few seconds to retrieve the data for the new station. (And maybe a few more seconds if you're on a slow Internet connection.)

Don't actually switch any station. Just uncheck the option as stated in Step 4 and then click Apply/OK to close out of options. On my system, the icons will stay missing until WWL does a refresh which could be 5 minutes.

I'm thinking we're seeing different things due to differences in our Weather Watcher settings. Can you export your settings and email them to me at Mike@SingersCreations.com? (Don't post them here.) Here are the steps to do that:

    1) Click the Windows Start button, choose "Run...", and enter "regedit" in the run window.

    2) Navigate to the following registry key in the left menu:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Weather Watcher Live

    3) Right-click on the "Weather Watcher Live" key, choose "Export", enter a file name, and click the "Save" button.
